the story
when i was in college, i met my best friend during a really weird, tender time. it was my first real gay friendship, and i didn’t know how to separate what i felt. i kept wondering if i liked him or liked liked him.
we started visiting his hometown together, and somewhere between late night drives and small routines, it all softened into something clearer. i wasn’t falling in love with him but falling in love with knowing him.
i remember sitting with him and watching the pink sky settle over his hometown hills, feeling like the luckiest person alive just to exist in the same world as him.
he’s still my best friend. i love you jack xx.
