about

crushed clementine is a love story.

the name comes from the clementine tree my grandma had in her backyard while i was growing up. my siblings and i spent late summer afternoons climbing it, jumping into the fallen fruit below, crushing clementines beneath our shoes, and tracking the sticky juice everywhere. there was something so carefree about those afternoons.

when i got older, life became heavier. i spent a lot of time alone in my room looking at fashion photography and paparazzi photos of models; i loved how people who seemed so big, could look so ordinary... they would go to castings, smoke with friends outside of clubs, sit on curbs in oversized clothing. it made adulthood feel so romantic and exciting to me. messy, beautiful, cinematic. something worth sticking around for.

i think crushed clementine exists somewhere between those two feelings: childhood carelessness and the aching curiosity of what waits for u on the other side of growing up.

every piece is made with love, specifically for the moments that shape us... and the ones that don't. for falling in love, getting your heart broken, long dinners with friends, weekends that change everything, and all the versions of u that you'll meet along the way.

thank u for being here and letting this world exist <3 i think a part of me will always be that little boy jumping into crushed clementines.

i hope we get to do this forever <3

with love,
javaughn
